The Opportunity
Position: Regional Marketing Executive (East Region, Essex, Braintree-based)
Freedom Leisure is seeking an energetic, proactive, and creative marketer eager to take the next step in building a dynamic marketing strategy while delivering a lasting benefit to our communities.
Supporting in a flexible, 20-hour per week (rota-duties: Mon–Sun) capacity, you’ll help design and execute targeted marketing campaigns that move the needle for our regional commercial goals—joining a thriving team that loves making a positive splash.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with the Regional Commercial Manager to:

Campaign & Promotion:
- Plan and deliver targeted marketing campaigns to boost sales and engagement.
- Assess and act on customer and community feedback, ensuring campaigns meet real-world needs.

Digital Engagement:
- Manage website content, ensuring consistency and facility awareness.
- Execute and schedule email marketing campaigns to build loyalty and drive visits.

Social Media & Brand Voice:
- Maintain brand-aligned messaging across all-branded social media platforms for the East region.
- Collaborate on corporate-wide marketing strategies that reflect Freedom Leisure’s values.

Creative Work & Partnerships:
- Produce and coordinate promotional materials (digital + print) while adhering to brand standards.
- Liaise with external suppliers (designers, printers) to ensure quality and budget efficiency.

Distribution & Outreach:
- Support internal and external delivery of marketing materials.
- Represent the Marketing Department at outreach events as required.

PR & Press:
- Scout PR opportunities and nurture local/trade press relationships.
- Support press interviews, boxes, or coverage as medium opportunities arise.

In-House Materials:
- Authorise, produce, and submit desktop-published materials such as:

- Banners
- Flyers

Hours
- 20 hours/week
- Rotating across Monday to Sunday
Requirements
Essential Qualifications (Experience)
- Out-of-pocket marketer: Proven experience in a marketing or sales support role.
- Prioritisation and organisation: Skilled in juggling multi-generation workloads efficiently.
- Digital marketing competency: Understanding + hands-on expertise in social media strategies.
- Relational agility:
- Ability to swiftly build and maintain key relationships, internal and external.
- Persuasive interpersonal skills to negotiate, collaborate and communicate clear actions.
- Deconstruct/reconstruct thinking: Analysing situations and identifying solutions that work for the whole.
- Teamwork on steroids:
- Driven and collaborative, capable of supporting colleagues across departmental silos.
- Attention to detail: High professionalism in organisation and brand adherence.

Desirable (Nice-to-Have)
✔ Leisure industry@appreciation – familiarity or preference is a plus. ✔ Leisure sector connections ahead of the curve, proactively identifying opportunities. ✔ Qualification bend – A Marketing, Business or Creative Arts degree would aid background. ✔ Cterical, admin & workflow experience – efficient office project management. ✔ Removable travel: Willingness to visit centres across the East region.
