Mentor Manager – North Region Role
About The Role
This is an excellent opportunity to join a small, dedicated team delivering a specialist service to service leavers and their families.
We are seeking a passionate Mentor Manager to join our mentoring service, supporting SSAFA beneficiaries and volunteer mentors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the operational point of contact for your assigned region, managing and recording volunteer mentor work.
- Conduct specialist needs assessments for potential beneficiaries.
- Monitor, support, and review mentoring relationships through regular engagement with volunteers.
- Brief, present to, and coordinate stakeholders across your area of responsibility.
- Travel extensively throughout the North Region of England, with weekly visits to Catterick.

This role is home-based but requires significant travel.
About The Team
You will join a small, well-established, and dedicated team covering the entire UK. Expect:
- Regular team meetings
- Structured support, training, and mentoring
- A remote but closely connected approach, driven by collaboration and shared purpose.

About You
We’re seeking a determined, highly motivated candidate who thrives on challenge and can:
- Build strong relationships across the region while working remotely.
- Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Work independently with initiative while collaborating within a team.
Ideal Candidate Background:
- Experience managing large geographic areas.
- Excellent communication and IT skills, including MS Office 365 and databases.
- Passion for philanthropy with enthusiasm for volunteer management.
- Understanding of the Armed Forces/ex-Forces community (bonus but not mandatory).
