Regional Operations Manager

As our Regional Operations Manager at Spectrum Storage Group, you will be responsible for the successful day-to-day running of both our on-site operations at Storebox self-storage sites and the performance of our LOVESPACE third-party warehouse network partners, to deliver a consistent best-in-class service to our customers across the North of England. You will be responsible for defining the standards of our facilities, partners, and their performances which should sell themselves to our potential and existing customers and exceed all expectations.

This role requires high energy, strong leadership, and the highest personal expectations of standards and performance. You must be passionate about getting out and about and leading from the front and be continually restless for delivering continuous improvement to ensure the operational performance keeps pace with the expectations of both the business and its customers.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Lead and manage the Operations team to exceed all targets whilst delivering a best-in-class service across the UK.
  • Performance management: Define all KPIs and metrics and establish a routine of consistent performance review.
  • People management: Manage a growing team of site managers and facilities managers, including defining workload, travel schedules, and managing underperformance.
  • Thought Leadership: Combine experience and a clarity of aims and values to challenge pre-existing norms. Logical decision maker capable of demonstrating the rigour and explanation of all decisions.
  • Training and Coaching: Recruit, train, and mentor teams and partners. Promote continuous learning and professional development within the teams.
  • Relationship management: Find, manage, and maintain the relationships with third-party warehouse providers ensuring there is always excess storage capacity.
  • Resource planning: Define and manage the operational budget to deliver a consistent service that exceeds customer expectations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Relentless in the continual review of our sites, processes, tools, suppliers, and teams to identify opportunities for improving both performance and efficiencies.
  • Data-driven reporting and decision-making: Confident using available data to measure performance and efficiency and identify opportunities for improvements.
  • Process management: Must be confident in defining and reviewing processes to ensure effective communication and performance across the UK. Must ensure all processes are clearly defined and shared.
  • Risk management: Lead on all matters of Health and Safety and security. Capable of producing the required risk assessments, processes, and documentation and ensuring the maintenance of the highest standards across the business.
  • Cross-team collaboration: Effective communicator who can be the operational champion when interacting with the wider business.
  • Upholding standards: Ensure that each site and partner meets agreed high standards of security, cleanliness, and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Expected to be based in the North East of England, and be mobile across the UK at least 3 days of the week.
  • Must be a proven leader, with experience managing operations in a demanding and high-expectation environment across the UK.
  • Demonstrate the highest personal standards in performance and communication.
  • A self-starter with a hands-on approach. Must be happy leading and setting expectations from the front. Must be entirely accountable.
  • A natural coach who thrives on developing the performance of team members.
  • A creative and resourceful problem solver with tonnes of initiative.
  • An unwavering desire for continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Motivated to ensure the consistency of performance across the operational through effective risk and process management, but innovative to ensure continued improvement and review.
  • Capable and comfortable using data to measure performance and identify opportunities for change.
  • Fluent in English with excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Be an ambassador for our customers and the business.
