Management - Midlands

Role Overview

Job Title: Regional Operations Manager - Specialist Division Location: Home-based with regional travel Contract: Full Time Shift Type: Days Salary: £70,000 per annum + up to 40% bonus + car allowance + Private Medical Insurance


About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Regional Operations Manager to join our rapidly expanding Specialist Division. This is a newly created, high-impact leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape performance, quality, and growth across a diverse portfolio of complex care services.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will provide strong, visible leadership to a group of Registered Managers, ensuring services consistently deliver:

  • Exceptional care
  • Regulatory excellence
  • Strong commercial performance

This is a hands-on role, suited to a leader who:

  • Balances quality with financial accountability

The role is 100% home-based with significant regional travel (typically four days per week) and participation in an on-call rota. Flexibility, visibility across services, and the willingness to be where you are most needed are critical.


The Opportunity

You will oversee a regional portfolio of specialist services, supporting a wide range of complex needs, including:

  • Mental health
  • Neuro and brain injury
  • Dementia
  • Physical health

This role combines strategic oversight with operational delivery, requiring you to:

  • Drive consistency in service standards

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Oversight

  • Lead from the front: Develop and support Registered Managers in achieving high standards of care and financial outcomes.
  • Ensure inspection-readiness, confidently navigating regulatory processes.
  • Maintain robust governance, safeguarding, and compliance standards.

Operational Delivery

  • Drive occupancy growth, cost control, and workforce efficiency.
  • Oversee clinical delivery, including:
    • Care planning
    • Medication management
    • Use of systems like RADAR and NOURISH

Performance Turnarounds

  • Support underperforming services and lead turnaround plans where needed.

Relationship Management

  • Work closely with families, commissioners, and internal teams to ensure a joined-up, high-quality approach.

Success Metrics & Rewards

Success is performance-linked and directly contributes to a potential bonus of up to 40% of salary. Key measures include:

  • Regulatory excellence (e.g., high inspection ratings)
  • Occupancy growth
  • Financial performance (EBITDA)
  • Reduced reliance on agency staff
  • Stable, high-performing teams

Essential

  • Proven multi-site leadership experience in specialist or complex care environments.
  • Track record in:
    • Improving quality
    • Driving performance
    • Navigating regulatory inspections
  • Ability to influence, challenge, and inspire while remaining hands-on and solutions-focused.
  • Commercial awareness with strong prioritisation skills for a fast-paced environment.

Preferred/Desirable

  • Registered Manager experience and clinical qualifications (RGN/RMN).
  • Exposure to services supporting learning disabilities or autism.
  • Demonstrable ability to lead in high-accountability environments where quality and performance are critical.
