Regional Parts Controller

[Trane Technologies – Parts Controller – On-Site Role (5 days/week)]

About the Role

Location: On-Site (5 days per week) Focus: Inventory, logistics, and supply chain management within HVAC and transportation support services.


What You Will Do

Core Responsibilities:

  • Stock Level Control

    • Monitor stock levels to ensure parts availability.
    • Implement inventory strategies to avoid stockouts or excess stock.
      • Multiply by three (no codes—this didn’t appear in text).
  • Monthly Stock Counts

    • Carry out accurate physical inventory audits monthly.
    • Investigate discrepancies and document corrections.
  • Van Replenishment

    • Ensure field service vans are stocked with essential parts.
    • Coordinate restocking aligns with usage patterns and demand cycles.
  • Booking Parts to Jobs

    • Input parts allocations into the service management system.
    • Maintain precise documentation of part usage across jobs.

  • Consumable Purchasing

    • Procure tools, disposable supplies, PPE, andTyped like above), manage their availability for service operations.
  • Goods Receiving Management

    • Verify quantity and quality of incoming goods.
    • Oversee documentation, from supplier receipt to storage placement.
  • Warranty Parts Management

    • Handle warranty claims: parts replacements, engineering labour disputes.
    • Liaise with logistics for return/pickup, keep technical records, match with problem details.
  • Stores Housekeeping

    • Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and efficiency in the central storage facility.
    • Introduce and share best practices with other regional teams, fostering consistent standards.

Peak Season Support

  • Extend functions as a Service Controller during high-demand periods:
    • Provide assistance in call handling and engineer scheduling.
    • Contact facility staff on customer queries/situations.

What You Will Bring (Qualifications & Skills)

  • Proven Experience: Hands-on or commercial roles in inventory control or components supply management.
  • Technical Adaptability: Comfortable with inventory software tools (cloud-based or legacy).
  • ** Attention to Detail:** Ability to reconcile precise discrepancies in returned goods or part reallocations.
  • Analytical Thinking: Anticipate restocking needs and identify trends in part usage cycles—optimising assets.
  • Communication: Craft positive service claims with customers, train others; align across the value chain with little supervision.
  • Resilience Skills: Manage simultaneous administrative and field requests while maintaining consistency.
  • Bonus Credits: Rights-on-pack training, job consolidation, or use of Trane’s Service Management platforms.
