Location: Home-based within the Midlands or South, with regular travel required across services in this region. Working Hours: 18.5 hours per week Contract Type: Permanent Salary: £45,760 - £55,780
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Regional Quality and Compliance Lead to join our team.
In this key role, you will provide independent assurance across a defined region in the Midlands and South, ensuring services meet required standards and continuously improve. You’ll work closely with operational leaders while maintaining impartiality, leading inspection activity, overseeing complaints and incidents, and supporting teams to be fully prepared for regulatory scrutiny. This is a high-impact role, where your expertise will directly influence service quality, governance, and organisational learning.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Inspections
- Lead and deliver an annual programme of internal inspections across services.
- Review and sign off evidence-based reports, identifying strengths, risks, and improvements.
- Oversee and monitor service improvement plans.
Compliance & Governance
- Provide expert guidance on regulatory frameworks (e.g. CQC, Ofsted).
- Ensure services are inspection-ready and compliant with standards.
- Escalate risks and provide assurance to senior leadership.
Complaints & Incident Oversight
- Oversee the quality and compliance of complaint and incident handling.
- Analyse trends, identify themes, and ensure learning is embedded.
- Support governance reporting and continuous improvement.
Performance & Reporting
- Produce and present quarterly assurance reports, covering:
- Inspection outcomes
- Improvement progress
- Complaints and incidents
- Regulatory risks and emerging changes
- Work collaboratively with other assurance functions (e.g. Health & Safety, Information Governance).

Leadership & Engagement
- Lead and develop a team of Quality and Compliance Specialists.
- Deliver training, workshops, and guidance to operational teams.
- Build strong working relationships while maintaining independence.
About You
- Skilled in inspection, audit, report writing, and evidence-based assurance.
- Competent in using IT systems for data recording, reporting, and document management.
- Experience in quality, compliance, or regulatory oversight (health, social care, housing, or charity sector).
- Proven track record in supporting service improvement planning or delivery.
