The Role and Candidate
The Area Manager is responsible for leading the performance of multiple POP MART retail stores across the South of England. This role ensures the delivery of outstanding customer experiences, strong commercial performance and operational excellence while developing Store Managers to achieve business objectives.
The successful candidate will inspire teams, drive sales growth, ensure compliance with company standards and support POP MART's continued retail expansion across the UK South region.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop Store Managers and their teams across multiple locations throughout the South of England.
- Drive sales, profitability and KPI performance through effective commercial leadership.
- Analyse store performance and implement action plans to maximise sales and operational results.
- Ensure consistent delivery of exceptional customer service across every location.
- Conduct regular store visits, audits and business reviews to maintain operational excellence.
- Recruit, develop and retain high-performing Store Managers and Assistant Managers, creating strong succession plans.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety legislation, security procedures and loss prevention standards.
- Partner with the Visual Merchandising team to ensure all stores consistently deliver POP MART brand standards.
- Support new store openings, relocations, refurbishments and regional projects.
- Manage payroll, labour budgets and scheduling to maximise productivity and profitability.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, Marketing and Retail Operations to successfully deliver business initiatives.
- Prepare and present regular business performance reports to senior leadership.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, customer engagement and commercial performance.
- Foster a positive, inclusive and high-performance culture that reflects POP MART's values.

Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Area Manager, District Manager or Regional Manager within a multi-site retail environment.
- Demonstrated success in driving sales growth, profitability and operational excellence.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills with experience developing high-performing retail teams.
- Experience managing multiple locations across a geographically dispersed region.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse KPIs and implement effective action plans.
- Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively throughout the South of England, including occasional overnight stays.
Desirable but Not Essential
- Experience within premium retail, lifestyle brands, collectibles or designer toys.
- Experience supporting large-scale retail expansion and new store openings.
- Strong understanding of the UK retail market.
- Passion for pop culture, collectibles and designer toys.
- Proficiency in Mandarin or Chinese is an advantage but not essential.
