Regional Security Training Specialist

Step Into the Role:

Are you ready to lead, inspire, and shape the next generation of security professionals across Atlantic Canada? GardaWorld is looking for a Regional Security Training Specialist to oversee and deliver training programs that ensure our teams are operationally ready, compliant, and professionally developed. This role reports directly to the Regional Director, Atlantic Canada, and involves regular collaboration with Branch Managers, Operations Managers, Account Managers, HR, Recruiting, Scheduling teams, security personnel, and external training partners. The Training Specialist also handles company, employee, and client information with strict confidentiality.

This position is responsible for overseeing and delivering training programs for GardaWorld Security personnel across Atlantic Canada. The Regional Security Training Specialist will create a positive, structured, and effective learning environment while supporting operational readiness, regulatory compliance, and professional development for employees throughout the region.

The Training Specialist will coordinate and deliver training programs, support onboarding and development initiatives, and ensure that instructional content remains aligned with GardaWorld standards, industry requirements, and operational needs.

This is an active role that involves standing and delivering hands-on training, with some physical effort required for practical exercises. The position also includes preparation and administrative tasks, and requires the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Regular travel across Atlantic Canada will be needed to support training.

Responsibilities for Regional Security Training Specialist

  • Lead and deliver GardaWorld Security training programs across Atlantic Canada, ensuring consistent standards in NS, NB, NL, and PEI.
  • Conduct classroom and practical training in communications, legal procedures, industry fundamentals, customer service, defensive tactics, de-escalation, First Aid, and other operational modules.
  • Oversee onboarding and foundational training to ensure operational readiness and compliance.
  • Maintain training records, certifications, and compliance tracking.
  • Coordinate with Branch and Operations Managers to identify training needs and implement targeted development programs.
  • Provide guidance to leadership on training requirements, certification standards, and professional development.
  • Ensure all programs comply with regulatory, industry, and legislative standards.
  • Continuously improve training curriculum, methods, and materials based on feedback and best practices.
  • Support employee development, retention, and specialized training aligned with client programs and operational needs.

Qualifications for Regional Security Training Specialist

  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in security operations or a related field.
  • Proven subject matter expertise in operational security environments, beyond classroom-only or instructional design experience.
  • Proven experience as a Training Specialist, with a strong foundation in adult learning principles, learner engagement, and classroom facilitation.
  • Strong knowledge of physical security operations, incident response, emergency procedures, and use-of-force principles.
  • Proven experience delivering scenario-based, hands-on training in both classroom and practical environments.
  • Strong foundation in adult learning, classroom facilitation, and learner engagement.
  • Ability to adapt training methods to different learning styles and operational experience levels.
  • Experience evaluating learner performance through practical assessments, coaching, and competency validation.
  • Ability to balance classroom instruction, practical demonstrations, and real-world simulations.
  • Ability to demonstrate defensive tactics, physical intervention, and control techniques.
  • Background in martial arts, combatives, or use-of-force instruction considered a strong asset.
  • High level of physical fitness with the ability to safely demonstrate techniques.
  • Ability to provide proof of operational and instructor certifications.
  • Must be available for a full-time training commitment.
