Regional SEND Lead

Location: South Region – London, Buckinghamshire and Daventry Note: Regular travel between academies is required.


About the Role

Join us in opening minds, opening doors

E-ACT is seeking an experienced and passionate Regional SEND Lead to provide strategic and operational leadership for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across a group of academies.

In collaboration with academy leaders and the central education team, you will drive high-quality, inclusive provision and improve outcomes for pupils with SEND across all key phases.

This is a highly visible role requiring:

  • Strong system leadership
  • Deep SEND expertise
  • The ability to support, challenge and inspire leaders and teachers

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement a regional SEND strategy aligned to:
    • The Trust’s vision
    • Inclusion priorities
    • Statutory duties
  • Conduct SEND reviews across academies, evaluating:
    • ** identifying needs**
    • Useful provision
    • Teaching adaptations
    • Pupil outcomes
  • Enhance teaching and learning for pupils with SEND through inclusive, adaptive classroom practice
  • Provide professional support, challenge and coaching to SENDCOs and senior leaders, building leadership capacity
  • Collaborate across:
    • Schools
    • Central teams
    • Local Authorities
    • External agencies

Salary & Flexibility

Contract: Permanent Pay Range: £64,691 - £80,655 Depending on experience (5-point scale applied)

London Academies:

  • Braintcroft
  • City Heights
  • The Crest

Buckinghamshire Academies:

  • Bourne End
  • Chalfont Valley
  • Denham Green
  • Ousedale

Daventry Academies:

  • DSLV Primary and Secondary
  • The Parker
  • The Grange

Requirements

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Leadership experience at Assistant Headteacher level or equivalent
  • Proven track record of improving outcomes for pupils with SEND across one or more settings
  • Secure, up-to-date knowledge of:
    • The SEND Code of Practice
    • Inclusive education principles
  • Credible, influential leadership with:
    • Strong communication skills
    • Ability to support and challenge leaders/teachers effectively

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience in STAR enforcing drafting
  • Masters in Education or specialist SEND qualifications
