Building Control Surveyor (BSR Class 2A and above)
Salary: Competitive + car allowance + up to 15% bonus (subject to personal and company performance) + fantastic benefits!
Location: London
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours)
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Building Control Surveyor to join our growing Building Control team at London Building Control in partnership with Bureau Veritas. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in residential and low-risk non-residential projects who is looking to further develop their career within a supportive and professional environment.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring compliance with Building Regulations while delivering a high-quality service to clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage your own caseload of residential and commercial projects (up to 18m), in a small set geographical area
- Review plans and specifications for Building Regulation compliance
- Carry out site inspections at key stages of construction
- Provide clear guidance to clients on achieving compliance
- Issue approvals and final certificates
- Liaise with architects, contractors, local authorities, and fire services
- Maintain accurate records and reports on internal systems
- Support business development and promote Building Control services

About You
- ✅ Demonstratable experience working within Building Control
- ✅ Experience working independently on domestic projects
- ✅ Strong understanding of Building Regulations and construction methods
- ✅ Strong communication and client-facing skills
- ✅ Ability to manage workload and prioritise effectively
- ✅ Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- HND / Level 5 qualification (or working towards Degree – Level 6)
- Professional membership (RICS, CABE, CIOB or similar)
- BSR Registered Building Inspector (Class 2A or above), or working towards this
