McCarthy & Stone – Registered Care Manager (Canterbury, Kent)
The Vacancy
- Location: Canterbury, Kent
- Contract: Full-time, Permanent
- Hours: 38.75 per week (with some weekend work each month)
- Salary: £40,298.59 per annum, plus uncapped annual and quarterly performance bonuses
Applications will only be considered from candidates who hold or are 75% completed in a Level 5 Leadership in Health & Social Care qualification (or equivalent), and must commit to completing it within the probationary period.
About The Role
McCarthy & Stone are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Care Manager to join the team at Eastry Place, Retirement Living Plus Development in Canterbury, Kent.
You will take full responsibility for:
- Daily management of care delivery
- Operational running of the community
- Ensuring residents experience independence, dignity, and a vibrant lifestyle
Your leadership will drive:
- Strong care and support team management
- Upholding high-quality standards
- Full CQC compliance with company policies
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring top-tier care service delivery.
- Lead, inspire, and supervise a dedicated team of carers.
- Maintain CQC compliance, managing audits, quality checks, and safeguarding procedures.
- Collaborate with Sales and Rentals Teams to improve occupancy and engagement.
- Manage budgets and financial processes rigorously.
- Build strong relationships with:
- Residents
- Families
- External professionals (e.g., healthcare teams, advisers)
- Promote wellbeing and independence through personalised activities and support.

About You
We are looking for a confident leader with:
- Exceptional communication and problem-solving abilities.
- The skill to balance care quality with operational efficiency.
Essential Requirements
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or equivalent)**. (Alternatively, 75% completion with completion guaranteed during probation.)
- Proven experience in managing care or housing-with-care services.
- Strong knowledge of CQC standards and regulatory requirements.
- Outstanding people management and organisational skills.
Desirable Qualities
- Prior experience within retirement living, extra care, or domiciliary care.
- Ability to manage budgets and uphold high service delivery standards.
