Are you an ambitious and passionate Care Manager looking for the opportunity to help shape and grow something truly special?
At Home Instead Thornbury, Yate & Dursley, we provide high-quality domiciliary and live-in care across South Gloucestershire and surrounding areas. We’re proud to be part of the wider Home Instead network - with over 260 offices nationwide, Home Instead is one of the UK’s largest and most highly recommended home care providers, with more CQC Outstanding-rated offices than any other provider in the sector.
Our office is also part of the Home Instead Virtus Care Group - a growing group of four Home Instead offices across the South. This gives you the best of both worlds: the support, stability and shared expertise of an established group, alongside the autonomy and opportunity to make a genuine impact locally and put your own stamp on the role.
Based at our office in Tortworth and covering South Gloucestershire and surrounding areas, this is an exciting opportunity to lead and grow a developing home care and live-in care service while working alongside a supportive senior leadership team that genuinely values innovation, relationships and high-quality care. We’re not looking for someone to simply maintain a service. We want someone who is energetic, positive and driven - someone who is excited by the idea of putting their own stamp on a growing organisation and helping create an outstanding culture from day one.
If you’re confident with technology and systems, great with people, passionate about client experience and ready to be part of an ambitious journey, we’d love to hear from you.
The Role
As Registered Care Manager, you’ll play a key leadership role in developing and growing the service while ensuring exceptional standards of care and compliance.
You will:
- Register with CQC and lead all regulatory compliance and quality standards
- Build, support and inspire a compassionate, high-performing team and culture who embody our core values of responsiveness, trust and quality
- Lead client onboarding, care planning and relationship management to ensure the most exceptional service is provided
- Keep up to date with current legislation, CQC requirements and best practice guidance to ensure the service remains fully compliant and forward-thinking
- Manage safeguarding concerns, incidents and risk appropriately, ensuring clients are always protected and supported
- Liaise professionally with healthcare professionals, local authorities, GPs, district nurses and other external partners to support positive client outcomes
- Confidently build relationships within the local community to promote the service, develop partnerships and support positive brand awareness
- Support recruitment, mentoring and development of Care Professionals to build a strong and values-led team
- Carry out audits, quality assurance checks and spot checks to continuously improve service delivery and client satisfaction
- Use technology and care systems confidently to support efficiency, quality and growth
- Work closely with senior leadership to support business growth and development
- Drive a positive, client-first culture where people genuinely feel cared for and valued
- Be hands-on, adaptable and willing to support operational delivery during the growth phase, including providing direct care support where required
- Participate in the on-call rota and provide calm, effective leadership in response to operational challenges or emergencies

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
