As part of our exciting expansion, we are looking for a dynamic and compassionate Dual Registered Children’s Home Manager to join our team, based in Morcambe.

"Where Our Children Live" is a programme of work focusing on creating Lancashire homes for Lancashire children as part of a modernisation and expansion of Children's Residential Childcare at Lancashire County Council.

As part of the Residential Leadership Team, this position involves overseeing the daily operations of two Children’s Homes, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. The Dual Registered Manager is responsible for leading and mentoring two teams of Residential Childcare Workers, supported by four Deputy Managers.

The ideal candidate for this role will have relevant qualifications in social care or a related field, with proven experience in managing Children’s Homes or similar settings. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, along with a genuine commitment to the well-being and development of our children. Excellent organisational and time-management skills are required to handle multiple responsibilities effectively.

Personal attributes such as empathy, compassion, resilience, and integrity are considered essential for this role. The Dual Registered Manager must have a caring and empathetic approach to working with children and staff, the ability to handle challenging situations with patience and professionalism, and a strong sense of ethics and integrity in all aspects of the role.

What we are looking for…

  • A passion for working with children and a commitment to their well-being.
  • An QCF5 or NVQ 5 Leadership & Management in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in the management of a Children's Home.
  • Experience of working successfully at a managerial level to develop a high performing team.
  • Driving license and has access to a vehicle – this is an essential car user post.
