Role Overview

Location: Milton Keynes Contract: Full time, permanent Salary: £50,000 (Negotiable)

This role is based in a home that supports children with:

  • Learning disabilities
  • Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
  • Global Delay
  • Other special needs, including those with mental health needs

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the home and its staff to provide exceptional care for children with complex needs
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations, including Ofsted requirements and Children Home Regulations
  • Recruit, train, and develop a skilled team dedicated to child welfare
  • Oversee individualized care planning and delivery for each child
  • Maintain child safety and safeguarding standards
  • Manage the home’s budget effectively to allocate resources responsibly
  • Implement quality assurance processes for continuous improvement

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum qualification: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience as a Manager/Deputy Manager in a similar setting
  • Thorough understanding of legislation and standards in residential childcare
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal competence
  • Passion for working with children and young people
  • Commitment to fostering a safe, nurturing environment
