Registered Manager - Children's Homes

Registered Manager – 7 Bed Children’s Home

Overview At Witherslack Group, we strive to create the best possible outcomes for young people with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs through a holistic, joined-up approach. As a Registered Manager (7-bed Children’s Home), you’ll shape a supportive and motivating environment for both staff and young people, ensuring safety and growth. Your leadership will make a tangible difference—helping young people reclaim their childhoods and paving their way to becoming well-rounded adults.

Total Package:

  • Base salary: £60,364 – £73,808 per annum
  • 30% annual bonus accrued as a lump sum (reviewed annually)

Join UK’s leading specialist provider for SEND (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities).

About the Role

You’ll manage day-to-day operations of a 7-bed children’s home, ensuring Ofsted compliance while fostering strong relationships with young people. Your dedication protects their well-being and empowers them to thrive. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, occupational therapists, and care professionals, you’ll help deliver positive outcomes by creating a collaborative, supportive model of care.

This aspirational role rewards your impact—where even the smallest progress ("huge small victories") contributes to meaningful change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of the home, balancing urgency with embedded strategies for emotional, behavioural, and educational progress.
  • Oversee Ofsted compliance and escalate any risks to ensure safety and protection.
  • Collaborate with referrers, educators, and clinical teams (psychologists, OTs) to tailor care.
  • Cultivate a therapeutic, nurturing environment that resonates with each young person’s needs.
  • Manage a team with clear expectations – nurturing nurturers to deliver consistency.
  • Mentor staff to co-construct care planning, troubleshoot challenges, and celebrate progress.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
