Role Description

The Registered Manager role is a full-time, on-site position based in North London. The Registered Manager will oversee the day-to-day operation of a children’s home for a start-up company, ensuring high standards of care, compliance with regulatory requirements, and alignment with organizational policies.

Key Tasks

  • Leading and supervising staff
  • Managing referrals and admissions
  • Developing and implementing care plans
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports
  • Liaising with external agencies, families, and professionals
  • Conducting audits and quality assurance activities
  • Driving continuous improvement across the service
  • Contributing to safer recruitment, staff training, and service development in line with values and guidance

  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills in children’s residential or social care settings, including team supervision and performance management.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and guidance for children’s social care, including safeguarding and health and safety requirements.
  • Experience in service planning, risk assessment, quality assurance, and continuous improvement within a care environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills for working with children, families, staff, and external agencies.
  • Proven ability in safer recruitment, staff induction, and supporting professional development and reflective practice.
  • Competence in report writing, record keeping, and using digital tools or care management systems to maintain compliance and oversight.
  • Relevant professional qualification in social care, social work, or a related field (e.g., Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care or equivalent).
  • Track record of achieving or contributing to high inspection ratings (e.g., GOOD or OUTSTANDING) is highly beneficial.
  • Commitment to child-centered practice, equality, diversity, inclusion, and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development
