About The Role

We are looking for a supportive and motivated Registered Manager to join our team in Cheshire. This role is all about making a real difference to people’s lives.

As a Registered Manager, You Will

  • lead support and care teams for people with learning disabilities and autism. Your job is to make sure everyone gets the support they need to live a good life, and that the location/s meets all the rules set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the organisations funding people’s support, and Choice Support’s policies and procedures.
  • work with Deputy Registered Managers, Team Managers and staff teams to ensure that the care provided is the best possible and always improving to support the life that they choose.
  • make sure services you are responsible for meet all CQC standards and requirements, ensuring everything safe and compliant. Taking the lead when preparing for inspections, and ensure where improvements are needed, action is taken.
  • make sure support is up to date and helps them live the life they choose. Encourage independence, support people to stay connected with their family, and help them work towards their goals. You will also ensure support with health, medication and finances is safe, while building strong, trusting relationships with families and professionals. Ensuring that all decisions are made in line with the Mental Capacity Act.
  • with the support of the Deputy Registered Manager and Team Manager, help build a supportive team culture where everyone feels valued.
  • support the Deputy Team Manager to develop the skills and confidence needed to step into your role during your absence, by providing training and regular feedback.
  • monitor recruitment, inductions and staffing to ensure services are safe.
  • ensure the services remain safe and financially sustainable by ensuring rotas reflect support funding, with support driven by assessed needs. Monitor budgets and liaise with the finance team to ensure the correct income is received and staff and non-staff costs are within the agreed budget.
  • be the point of contact for internal and external contacts, providing information and hosting visits or assessments when requested so others can carry out their roles.
  • ensure records are accurate, person-centred, and that any events are recorded, investigated, escalated where needed, triaged, and resolved in a timely way.
  • be a safeguarding lead and make sure everyone is safe.

About You

Do you have

  • experience running a CQC-registered service, with good knowledge of CQC rules and standards as well as good understanding of key legislation, such as the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding.
  • either have a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care (or working towards it).
  • great communication skills as well strong leadership skills and experience in supporting others to lead well.
  • experience managing budgets, staffing and team or service performance

Are You

  • able to use systems like Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and care management systems (Nourish, Zellis MyView and Sona).
  • organised, able to keep accurate records, and understand the importance of good documentation and confidentiality.
  • someone who is kind, positive, and genuinely cares about people.
  • a good listener, good communicator, and someone who can stay flexible.

Location

Your registered office/location will be based in Cheshire, however, you may be required to perform your duties, permanently or temporarily, working from home or at other locations, within reasonable daily travelling distance, as directed, in accordance with the needs of the organisation.

Hours

This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week). You will work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including helping with rotas and ensuring safe staffing. You will also take part in the on-call rota.
