Registered Nurse – Bupa Norewood Lodge Care Home

Location: 72 Nore Road, Portishead, Bristol BS20 8DU Salary: £18.41 – £21.48 per hour (dependent on experience) Contract: 4x 12-hour shifts per week (48-hour contract) Key Flexibility: Willingness to work day and night shifts

What You’ll Do:

  • Orchestrate resident well-being – Transform care delivery by meeting physical, emotional, and social needs.
  • Lead and mentor – Coache colleagues and other care professionals through formal education and informal guidance.
  • Assess and adapt – Plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care while aligning with policy standards.
  • Ensure safety – Monitor clinical environments and practices to maintain high standards and compliance.
  • Champion excellence – Model best practice, provide clinical guidance, and assist with CQC compliance tasks.

You’ll employ your RN skills to manage unit operations alongside clinical duties—administering medication, overthaking care plans, and offering direction to the care team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Care & Clinical Leadership: Overseing a nursing unit in a meticulous care home behind independent living focuses.
  • Medication Management: Administer and order medications as per health requirements.
  • Customised Care Plans: Develop, review, and refine resident care strategies individually.
  • Team Guidance: Provide training and support to ensure clinical and operational excellence.
  • Compliance & Safety: Uphold CQC standards, policies, and legislation—the bedrock of reliable care.
  • Resident & Family Relationships: Build trust with residents and their families by treating them with dignity and compassion.
  • Clear Communication: Ensure seamless handover of critical issues across teams.
  • Emergency Proficiency: Self-reliance, strong critical thinking, and adaptability during solo night shifts.

  • Valid NMC registration (mandatory)
  • Clinical excellence track record in managing medication, care plans, or policy adherence.
  • Proven ability to mentor and train, demonstrating leadership.
  • Confidence in theoretical guidance aligned with CQC expectations and practical compliance.
  • Commitment to exceptional communication and teamwork within clinical settings.
  • For night workers: independent decision-making and the resilience to navigate challenging situations.
