Join Our Team as a Registered Nurse

Location: Shipley Lodge - Heanor, Derbyshire.

Are you passionate about making a real difference in people’s lives? We’re looking for an experienced and caring Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team at Shipley Lodge – a CQC Registered home supporting individuals with severe and enduring mental health challenges.

Our Shipley Lodge Service is a sixteen bed, single-level facility for both male and female clients, offering a clean and comfortable environment that supports recovery and independence. At Shipley Lodge, we provide more than just accommodation – we offer support with daily living skills, personal care, finances, and rehabilitation, while encouraging engagement with the local community.

How you will make a difference as a Registered Nurse:

As a Registered Nurse you will work according to the Nursing & Midwifery Council code and relevant professional guidelines as a named nurse and key worker.

Under the direction of the Registered Manager/Management Team, you will work as part of an integrated team delivering high quality recovery focused care and interventions to individuals who use our services.

You will provide the role and function of named nurse, offering nursing interventions in a wide variety of clinical, therapeutic and social forms. Responsible for the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nursing care, assist in providing psychosocial interventions and activities of daily living.

Some of the essential skills and experience required for this role include:

  • A qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN), with 6-12 months post registration experience with active NMC validation completed.
  • I adhere to NMC code of conduct and professional practices and maintain registration with NMC.
  • I have relevant experience of working with mental health needs with sound clinical reasoning skills.
  • I have working knowledge and understanding of mental health issues and the ability to recognise the indicators of deteriorating mental health.
  • I have working knowledge and understanding of current legislation, such as the Mental Health Act, DoLS and the Mental Capacity Act.
  • I am able to deliver a range of treatments /interventions in a person-centered and non-judgmental manner.
  • I am able to demonstrate flexibility, creativity and positive risk taking when developing support packages/care plans.
