Shaftesbury is a disability charity offering care, education, vocational and rehabilitation services. The charity provides residential care, nursing, and supported living.
Within the education sector, Shaftesbury has:
- Shaftesbury Victoria School (for students aged 3–19)
- Shaftesbury Millie College (for students aged 16–25)
- Shaftesbury Nash College (for students aged 16–25)
All students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and may have physical and/or intellectual disabilities, including profound and complex learning needs.
About The Role

We are looking for an NMC Registered Nurse (RSCN or RGN) who is:
- Calm, approachable, and professional
- Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- An excellent communicator who can prioritise tasks and stay organised

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the team to formulate and deliver nursing care plans based on research and specialist medical guidance:
- Conduct assessments
- Develop care plans
- Carry out clinical procedures
- Address nursing needs effectively
- Assess and train staff to meet student medical needs
- Provide first aid to students and report care given to parents
- Stay up-to-date with continuing professional development
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- NMC registered Nurse (RSCN or RGN)
- Minimum 2 years of paediatric nursing experience
- Experience working both independently and collaboratively
- Strong ability to relate positively to children and young people
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and student safety
