Horder Healthcare is a leading specialist healthcare provider, known for delivering high-quality, compassionate care. We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Day Services Unit (DSU) and Pre-Assessment team at The Horder Centre, Crowborough.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is passionate about patient care, enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary team, and is committed to maintaining the highest professional standards.

About The Role

As a Registered Nurse within DSU and Pre-Assessment, you will play a key role in preparing patients for their procedures and supporting them through their care journey. You’ll be responsible for assessing patient needs, delivering safe and effective care, and ensuring patients and their families feel informed, supported, and reassured.

You’ll work collaboratively with colleagues across the multi-disciplinary team, contributing to a positive, professional environment that puts patients at the centre of everything we do.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-focused clinical care in line with national and organisational standards.
  • Undertake pre-admission screening, following Horder Healthcare policies and protocols.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care effectively.
  • Provide clear, appropriate advice and information to patients and their relatives.
  • Maintain excellent infection prevention and control practices at all times.
  • Actively contribute to effective team working within DSU and across the wider organisation.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reporting incidents and concerns appropriately.
  • Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.

Essential

What We’re Looking For

  • Registered healthcare professional (NMC / HCPC, as applicable).
  • Post-registration experience within an acute hospital setting, ideally within orthopaedics, day surgery, or pre-assessment.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • Strong communication skills and a patient-centred approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Location

The Horder Centre, Crowborough

Contract

Permanent, part-time (22.5 hours per week)

Shift Pattern

Work over 3 days per week, Monday to Saturday, with department closure on Sundays. Flexibility in shift pattern is essential for this post with DSU shifts starting at 7:00am or 7:30am and with a variable end time (between 5pm and 9pm). Pre-Assessment shifts start at 08:30am and commonly end around 4pm, but can run later or earlier, depending on department activity.

Salary

up to £20,229 pro-rata (£33,715 full-time equivalent)

Right to work in the UK

In accordance with Home Office guidance, successful candidates will be required to evidence their right to work in the UK before commencing employment. We have assessed this role and it does not meet the criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route. As such, we will not be accepting any visa sponsorships for this role, and candidates must be able to demonstrate their right to work in the UK independently, without sponsorship from Horder Healthcare.
