Position Overview
Job Title
Registered Nurse (Dementia Specialist) at Eastridge Manor, our ** inpatient dementia nursing home** in Bolney, Nr Haywards Heath.
Reports to
Home Manager
Contract Details
- 24 hours per week (8am – 8pm)
- Permanent contract (36 hours uninterrupted)
- Hours range between weekdays and weekends
- Hybrid operational shifts (annsually approx. 30 hours weekdays, 6 hours weekends).
Job Summary
You’ll join our experienced clinical team to deliver proactive and reactive care, helping ensure all residential needs—physical, emotional, and social—are met safely and effectively.
Responsibilities include:
- Planned and reactive clinical</span> supervision, adherence to care plans, and esprit** effective quality of life for residents.
- Collaborate within the team and with external professionals to optimise care pathways and outcomes.
- Uphold patient autonomy, dignity, and privacy—key pillars of our care philosophy.

Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Ensure well-being and safety: Maintain the highest standards of personalised care for residents in a safe, home-like environment.
- Advocate for choice & autonomy: Support residents’ rights to make personal decisions about their care.
- Promote respect: Lead the care team in maintaining professional, dignified treatment for residents and staff.
- Coordinate the care team: Assist in managing, mentoring, and supporting staff on duty, ensuring seamless collaboration.
- Build trust with families/CON’s: Foster relationships with families, advocates, and next of kin (NOK) while providing regular, transparent updates.
- Documentation excellence: Complete comprehensive, accurate, and timely records—including individualised care plans updated as residents’ needs evolve.
Requirements
Essential
- Registered nurse qualification and current NMC licenced with NMC
- Willing to prioritise tasks efficiently to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Strong communication skills: Both verbal and non-verbal let· importance when working with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Previous clinical experience in areas of expertise: geriatrics, frailty, end-of-life, and particularly dementia care.
Preferred Traits
- Proactive, hands-on attitude with a ‘can-do’ mentality.
- Resourcefulness under pressure to manage multiple demands—from critical rush tasks to daily care routines.
- Assured presence when engaging with staff, residents, managers, contractors, and external support professionals.
- Basic IT competency (e.g., proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and care pathway software).
- Attention to fine detail ensures meticulous care records and avoids costly errors.
