About the Role
EAU4 at Torbay Hospital are looking for a highly motivated, innovative, and experienced nurse to join our dynamic team. EAU4 is an emergency admission unit that supports the medical take.
Working on the unit is both exciting and challenging. We work closely with the Emergency Department and Acute Medical Unit, caring for a diverse group of acutely unwell medical patients, with Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Gastroenterology, and Chronic health conditions. Staff are also exposed to managing patients with a higher acuity within the unit.

Responsibilities
- Work as part of a team on the unit to ensure seamless delivery of service.
- Participate in the assessment of care needs of the clients and the development, implementation, and evaluation of care, promoting high standards, demonstrating a compassionate nature, and promoting patient dignity.
- Participate as a skilled member of the multi-disciplinary team.
- Work as part of the Urgent Care team, promoting good interdepartmental relationships.
- Act as a clinical advisor on nursing issues to ensure high standards of care are maintained, utilizing evidence-based practice.
- Participate in direct care and facilitate sound discharge planning.

- Assist in monitoring standards within the department, including generic standards of care and infection control. Instigate any changes to make improvements as necessary.
- Ensure the health and safety of patients, families, and colleagues at all times.
