About the Role

At Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, our compassionate and innovative team delivers expert pediatric care for infants, children, and adolescents with complex medical conditions. Ranked #1 Children’s Hospital in Florida and nationally recognized, we are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of pediatric healthcare through:

  • Innovation and collaborative practice
  • Advanced critical care, including surgical procedures and cutting-edge therapies
  • Precision medicine for specialized, family-centered care

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is a 28-bed unit focused on caring for the most critically ill infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. Patients receive care for a broad range of complex medical and surgical conditions, often referred from surrounding regions for advanced intervention.

With continuity of board-certified pediatric intensivists available 24/7, a multidisciplinary team—including specially trained nurses and support staff—delivers compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to each patient’s needs. Beyond medical expertise, our team supports family education, emotional guidance, and continuity of care through every step of hospitalization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, high-quality care to critically ill pediatric patients, adhering to evidence-based protocols.
  • Collaborate with pediatric intensivists, specialists, family members, and other healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Monitor and respond promptly to clinical changes, conducting assessments and interventions in line with PICU standards.
  • Educate families and support persons on patient care, treatment plans, and anticipated outcomes.
  • Promote admission-to-discharge continuity of care, including handoffs and transition documentation.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, adverse event reporting, and team-based training.
  • Advocate for patients’ and families’ needs, ensuring dignity and comfort throughout treatment.
  • Participate in unit-based rounds, resuscitation efforts, and critical incident responses in alignment with unit practices.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
