Employment Details

  • Type: Full Time, Temporary (6-12 months with possibility of extension/permanency)
  • Salary: $112,841 – $119,223 per annum (inclusive of 12.5% super)
  • Location: Canberra Health Services
  • Section: Adult Acute Mental Health Services

About the Role

CHS is seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join Adult Acute Mental Health Services, delivering high-quality, person-centred care to people across Canberrans and the surrounding region. You’ll work within the multidisciplinary Mental Health, Justice Health, Alcohol & Drug Services (MHJADS) team, focusing on recovery-oriented care.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will include:

  • Providing evidence-based clinical care within 24-bed units including:
    • Adult Mental Health Unit (AMHU) – 40-bed inpatient facility.
    • Mental Health Short-Stay Unit (MHSSU) – 6-bed Emergency Department unit.
    • Mental Health Unit (12B) – 10-bed unit for acute mental health patients.
  • Assessing, diagnosing, and treating people experiencing acute mental health challenges.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal clinical outcomes.
  • Supporting consumers, families, and carers throughout their journey.
