Registered Nurse – Multiple Band 5 Roles
Location: Marie Curie Hospice, Edinburgh (UK) Contract: Permanent, Part-Time (28 hours per week)
Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity, dedicated to delivering compassionate palliative care and improving the quality of life for those with terminal illnesses. We are seeking to recruit multiple Band 5 Registered Nurses to join our team at the Edinburgh In-Patient Unit (IPU), where you’ll make a profound difference in patients’ lives.

Key Responsibilities
You will play a central role in:
- Providing high-quality, evidence-based end-of-life nursing care to patients within the IPU.
- Monitoring, assessing, and documenting patient conditions and progress accurately.
- Administering medication and treatments safely, including syringe drivers and pain management, per NMC guidelines.
- Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient-centred care plans.
- Promoting dignity, respect, and compassion in every interaction with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Supporting patient/family education, advocacy, and involvement in decision-making.
- Managing admissions and discharges with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Attending morning sessions and multidisciplinary team meetings to contribute to continuous improvement.
- Supporting quality improvement initiatives and upholding high-standard infection control practices.

Requirements
We’re looking for a committed, empathetic, and highly skilled Registered Nurse with:
- Experience and understanding of palliative and end-of-life care as a core focus of their practice.
- Current NMC registration (Band 5) with a minimum of level 1 NMC qualification.
- A holistic, person-centred approach to patient care for those near the end of life.
- Outstanding communication skills, enabling sensitive interactions with patients, families, and the broader care team.
- A passionate commitment to improving care in end-of-life settings.

- £34,544–£43,039 per year (aligned with AFC Clinical Pay Scale Band 5), pro rata fibrinclusive to scheduled hours.
