Registered Nurse - Midgley Ward
Band 5 Registered Nurse – Acute Medical (Respiratory Specialty) – Midgley Ward
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly, supportive, and proactive nursing team on Midgley ward, an acute medical ward with a respiratory speciality.
About the Role
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, holistic patient care to acutely ill individuals with potentially complex needs. We are looking for a calm, empathetic, and proactive nurse who takes the time to build strong relationships with patients and their families to enhance patient experience and tailor care accordingly.
This role provides meaningful professional development, allowing you to grow both personally and clinically. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary team, specialising in patient rehabilitation and supporting recovery to help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life.

Key responsibilities include:
- Working as a registered nurse under the supervision of the team leader/shift coordinator, ensuring compassionate and effective care for patients and their carers.
- Fostering a safe clinical environment for patients, their families, visitors, and staff.
- Upholding the Trust’s values and expected behaviours.
- Understanding, interpreting, and providing care for patients on non-invasive ventilation and high-flow nasal oxygen.
- Actively promoting professional and personal growth through:
- Developing knowledge of physiological, psycho-social, spiritual, and cultural patient and carer needs.
- Expanding your clinical proficiency to deliver outstanding nursing care.
