Registered Nurse - Outpatients
Registered Nurse | Outpatient | Mid-band 5 equivalent salary
Location: Havant, Hampshire Status: Full-time, shift-based
About the Role
Spire Portsmouth Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Outpatient Department on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care in a clinic environment, ensuring efficient outpatient services and an excellent patient experience.
As part of Spire Healthcare, one of the UK’s most respected private hospital groups, you’ll join a multidisciplinary team delivering fast access to expert care—from consultations to personalised treatments and aftercare.
Key Responsibilities
- Run nurse-led dressing and phlebotomy clinics and assist in pre-operative investigations
- Carry out delegated duties for patient care and operational efficiency, under guidance from the OPD Manager/team leader
- Chaperone and assist consultants during patient examinations and minor surgical procedures
- Arrange and necessary investigations per consultant requests
- Complete outpatient documentation to rigorous standards
- Deliver individualised nursing care while adhering to hospital policies
- Provide patients with relevant, clear written information about procedures and treatments

Requirements
- Active NMC Registration with no practice restrictions
- Demonstrated competence across a range of nursing skills
- Experience working collaboratively, requiring minimal supervision
Advantageous Experience
- Background in outpatient or surgical environments
- ECG-trained (Effective Cardiac Care certification)
- Phlebotomy-trained
