Make a Difference

The Registered Nurse (RN) will demonstrate competence aligned with professional nursing standards, the Nurse Practice Act, and the values of Community Health Network. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing patient care across the healthcare continuum
  • Ensuring optimal outcomes in a safe and cost-effective manner
  • Collaborating, delegating, negotiating, and efficiently managing resources

Based in the Med/Surg/Oncology Unit at Community East Hospital, RNs here care for diverse patients, including those requiring medical and surgical treatment for cancers and hematology-related diagnoses. Nurses in this unit will develop a broad skill set, including completion of ONC certification within one year.

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Graduate of a nursing program accredited by:
    • National League for Nursing (NLN)
    • Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
    • Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)
    • National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA) OR three years of related professional nursing experience
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license in Indiana, adhering to the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
  • Preferred: One year of RN experience (though new graduates will be considered)
  • Required: Achievement of chemotherapy certification within six months of hire
