About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Mainstone Vets on a full-time basis.
Mainstone Practice is a long-established veterinary surgery in Romsey with a strong community reputation and a genuinely supportive team culture. We’re looking for a confident Veterinary Nurse to join us, working with a varied small animal caseload including cats, dogs, small furries, and occasional wildlife cases.

- Certificate holders in Ophthalmology and ECC, with excellent support for further development and certificates
- Varied first-opinion caseload with a great mix of consultations and surgery
- Opportunity to be involved in orthopaedic, medical, and emergency cases alongside routine work
How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.
- You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern
- 40 hours per week
- Full-time role over 4 or 5 days working between 8:00am and 7:00pm with a varying shift pattern
- 1 in 5 Saturday mornings from 8:30am to 12:30pm
- No out-of-hours requirement
General Responsibilities
Your week will include a well-balanced mix of nurse clinics, surgical and medical inpatients, and dentistry, with a caseload that is both varied and rewarding. While much of our work involves routine procedures, we also see orthopaedic cases and occasional emergency presentations, ensuring plenty of clinical variety.
We’re Looking For
You might be a great fit if...
- Experienced, confident, and motivated
- Registered as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
- Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
- Good organizational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively
- A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement

Salary
Up to £32,000 per year DOE
