Registered Veterinary Nurse

Location: Village Vets Cambridge – Milton Hospital

Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week

Salary: £28,350 - £33,000 per annum DOE.

Are you an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse looking to take the next step in your career within a busy hospital environment?

Village Vets Cambridge are seeking a confident and motivated RVN to join our nursing team at Milton Hospital. This role would suit a nurse with at least 2–3 years of post-qualification experience who enjoys a varied caseload, thrives in a collaborative team environment, and is looking to further develop their clinical and emergency nursing skills, ideally with clinical coaching experience or interest. As our RCVS-accredited hospital continues to grow, we are looking for an RVN who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and keen to make the most of their nursing skills in a supportive and progressive environment.

The Team and Practice

Milton Hospital is the largest site within Village Vets Cambridge and acts as the hub for our own Vet24 Out of Hours service. With many local practices feeding into the hospital, we see a diverse and rewarding caseload, including a high proportion of emergency and critical care patients.

Our hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment facilities, including:

  • Endoscopy equipment
  • Full in-house laboratory with blood gas and coagulation analysis
  • Digital radiography, including dental radiography
  • Ultrasound with linear and phased array probes
  • Video gastroscope and bronchoscope
  • Dedicated ECC theatre
  • Dental suite
  • Separate dog and cat wards

You will join a well-established multidisciplinary team comprising experienced veterinary surgeons, nurses, support staff, and certificate holders who are committed to delivering outstanding patient care while supporting each other's professional growth.

Working Pattern

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Mixture of early and late shifts, Monday to Friday
  • 1 in 6 weekends with 3 days back in lieu
  • Weekend-only on-call rota
  • 1 bank holiday per year, paid in addition with a day back in lieu

What We're Looking For

  • At least 2 years' experience in clinical practice
  • Confidence in managing hospitalised patients and varied nursing duties
  • Keen interest in ECC, medicine, and inpatient care
  • Enjoy working collaboratively as part of a supportive team
  • Possess excellent communication and client care skills
  • Proactivity, organisation, and a commitment to high clinical standards
  • Genuine enthusiasm for learning and professional development
