An exceptional opportunity awaits you at Bedford Vets for Pets.
About Bedford Vets for Pets
Bedford Vets for Pets is a long-established practice that has built a solid and dependable reputation locally with its clients. Our brilliant team culture has played a part in this and as such we have a long-standing team across all roles. We’re now looking for someone to take on all aspects of nursing and help us maintain the strong reputation we have built over the last 19 years.
Your Role
You’ll be joining a close-knit team of:
- 5 vets
- 5 RVNs
- 2 SVNs
- 1 VCA
- 5 receptions
We have regular meetings and they consist of:
- Vet, nurse or reception meetings
- Practice meetings
- Various team building activities in- and outside of working hours
We utilise our nurses to their full potential and are keen to upskill and grow our own talent. Our Head Nurse has been in the team for 16 years and is a nursing ECC holder whilst another Nurse has an ISFM certificate. Practice Owner Nicole holds the GPCert(SAP) and GPCert(SAS) and one of the assistants is looking to complete her internal medicine certificate this year.
Our practice provides excellent facilities giving you access to all the equipment and space you need to care for your patients including laparoscopy equipment and carrying out schedule 3 procedures. You’ll deal with many different species, working up cases thoroughly in house with very regular clinical discussions. We are registered with the Practice Standard Scheme and hold ISFM Silver Cat friendly status.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
