I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You will work as part of our large, multi-disciplinary team, consisting of consultants, residents, interns, nurses and Patient Care Assistants (PCA), to care for a large and varied referral and emergency caseload. Our multidisciplinary RVNs support with patient care and medical and surgical interventions across our wide range of services including, but not limited to, internal medicine, neurology, diagnostic imaging, inpatient care, oncology, surgery and anaesthesia. This is an exciting and diverse role that provides the opportunity to contribute to all our clinical services, with encouragement and support to upskill in a particular area of interest.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about patient care, eager to learn, and ready to be part of a collaborative, supportive team. You will be a strong communicator, solution-focused, and enthusiastic about developing new skills while helping others grow too.
