I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About Us
We’re a close-knit and experienced group made up of 3 RVNs, 2 SVN, 1 VCA, 4 vets—including our Practice Owner Leigh-Anne—our hands-on Practice Manager Sue, and a dedicated clinical care team that includes a Mental Health First Aider.
We pride ourselves on maintaining high clinical standards and benefit from visiting specialists in orthopaedics, ophthalmology, cardiology, and ultrasonography. With a strong focus on keeping cases in-house, including those managed by vets with a passion for soft tissue surgery and a medicine certificate holder, we offer plenty of opportunities for clinical growth.
Learning and development are at the heart of our practice, supported by two clinical coaches and dedicated time for one-to-one support. Our nurses take the lead on audits, protocols, socialisation events, and practice accreditations, and we’re always keen to help individuals pursue their own passions and special interests.
Nurses here are trusted to carry out schedule 3 procedures and truly use their skills to the fullest. We’re also proud to be an inclusive and accessible practice, with wheelchair access, a hearing loop, a digital stethoscope, and an open approach to individual needs.
