We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our dedicated night team at Abivale Veterinary Group on a full-time, 13-month fixed-term contract plus a £2000 welcome bonus.
Abivale Veterinary Group is a well-established practice in Abingdon, South Oxfordshire, providing 24/7 care, 365 days a year. We are proud to offer a high standard of veterinary services, with a strong reputation for excellence in emergency and critical care.
Our facilities are fully equipped for advanced diagnostics, surgery and inpatient care, ensuring you have everything you need to deliver outstanding treatment to our patients. Our dedicated night team works closely with our day teams and referring practices, creating a collaborative environment where every member’s skills and input are valued.

How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.
You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern
46.5 hours per week 5 nights on, followed by 5 nights off Monday to Thursday, 6:45pm to 7:45am, Friday, 6:45pm to 8:00am, Saturday, 6:00pm to 9:00am, Sunday, 6:00pm to 7:45am Full-time, 13-month fixed-term contract, night shift position
General Responsibilities
Deliver gold-standard emergency and critical care to hospitalised patients Support veterinary surgeons with a varied and often unpredictable caseload Provide excellent inpatient care, monitoring and patient recovery support Work confidently and calmly during emergency situations

Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
