We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Dorset Coast Vets on a part-time basis.
About the Practice
At Dorset Coast Vets, we have state-of-the-art surgical facilities to deliver a gold-standard service and care to our clients' pets. We offer:
- Separate cat and dog operating theatres, equipped to undertake a wide range of surgical procedures
- Two dental suites
- X-ray and ultrasound facilities
- Separate dog and cat wards
- Dedicated nurse consulting room for staff to utilise their skills fully
Practice Highlights

- 6 Veterinary Surgeons
- 10 Veterinary Nurses
- 10 Reception staff
- Excellent facilities, including x-ray, dental suites, wards, and separate reception areas

Key Responsibilities
- Anaesthetic monitoring and inpatient care
- Running nurse clinics and providing triage support
- Surgical nursing, including Stage 1 dental procedures
- Working closely with veterinary surgeons and nursing teams to enhance patient and client care
Working Pattern
- 36.5 hours per week
- Mix of early and late shifts, between 8am and 7pm
- 1 in 8 Saturdays (8am – 4:30pm) No out-of-hours work, no Sundays, and no bank holidays
Requirements
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a confident and motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse who:
✔️ Is registered with the RCVS ✔️ Has clinical practice experience, with increasing confidence in medical and surgical nursing ✔️ Brings strong communication skills, able to build positive client and team relationships ✔️ Demonstrates good organisational skills and can manage workload efficiently ✔️ Has a proactive approach to learning and continuous improvement

Salary
- Competitive starting point up to £31,033.60 per year
