Registered Veterinary Nurse - Part-time

Part-Time Registered Veterinary Nurse – Dorset Coast Vets

About the Role

We are seeking an **enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Dorset Coast Vets in a part-time capacity.

At Dorset Coast Vets, we provide gold-standard care with state-of-the-art surgical facilities, including:

  • Separate cat and dog operating theatres
  • Two dental suites
  • X-ray and ultrasound equipment
  • Dedicated dog and cat wards, nurse consulting rooms
  • Strong, supportive team culture (10 veterinary nurses, 6 veterinary surgeons, 10 receptionists)

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical care: Anaesthetic monitoring, inpatient care, running nurse clinics, and triage support
  • Surgical nursing: Assisting with Stage 1 dental procedures
  • Collaborative support: Working closely with vets, nursing team, and reception to deliver excellent patient and client experiences
  • Ensuring clinical standards and contributing to ongoing patient care improvement

The Ideal Applicant

This role is perfect for a confident, motivated RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse with:

  • Experience in clinical practice, including medical and surgical nursing
  • Strong communication to build relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Organisational skill and ability to manage workload effectively
  • A proactive, continuous learning mindset

Salary & Work Pattern

  • Hours: 36.5 hours/week
  • Shifts: Mix of early & late (8am–7pm), 1 Saturday every 8 weeks (8am–4:30pm)
  • No Sundays, no bank holidays, no out-of-hours work – ideal work-life balance
  • Salary: Up to £31,033.60 per year
