Registered Veterinary Nurse – Part-Time (36.5 Hours) at Dorset Coast Vets

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Dorset Coast Vets on a part-time basis.
About the Practice
At Dorset Coast Vets, we offer state-of-the-art surgical facilities to deliver a gold standard service and care for our clients' pets. This includes:
- Separate cat and dog operating theatres fully equipped for a wide range of surgical procedures
- 2 dental suites, x-ray, and ultrasound capabilities
- Separate cat and dog wards, dedicated nurse consulting rooms, and a welcoming reception area
Practice Highlights

- 6 Veterinary Surgeons
- 10 Veterinary Nurses

- Dedicated nursing consulting room
- Catalina/PACS system for enhanced record-keeping
How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN), you’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and colleagues, taking responsibility for:
- Nursing care of first-opinion cases
- Contributing to clinical standards
- Supporting ongoing patient care development in the practice
Working Pattern
- 36.5 hours per week
- Mix of early and late shifts (8:00 am – 7:00 pm)
- 1 weekend shift per month (Saturdays, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm)
- No on-call or Sundays
- No bank holiday shifts
General Responsibilities
- Anaesthetic monitoring & inpatient care
- Running nurse-led clinics & triage support
- Surgical nursing, including Stage 1 dental procedures
- Collaborating with vets and nursing team for excellent patient and client care
Requirements
You’ll thrive if you are a confident, motivated, and team-oriented RVN with:
- RCVS registration as a Registered Veterinary Nurse
- Clinical experience, with growing confidence in:
- Medical and surgical nursing
- Strong communication skills, building trust with:
- Clients
- Colleagues
- Expert organisational ability and workload management
- A proactive, reflective, and improvement-focused approach

Up to £31,033.60 per year
