Job Title: Registered Veterinary Nurse (Day RVN)
Location: Village Vets Berkhamsted (part of Linnaeus)
Job Type: Permanent
Hours: Full-time or part-time considered
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Village Vets Berkhamsted is a busy 2-vet practice with a varied caseload, including exposure to exotics through a certificate holder. You will be part of a small, collaborative nursing team where your contribution is valued and your skills are fully utilised.
This role offers a balance of routine and more complex cases, giving you the chance to develop without the pressure of a large referral environment.
About The Practice
Village Vets Berkhamsted is a well-established small animal practice with strong links to the wider Village Vet network.
- 2-vet practice with an exotic certificate holder
- Team of 3 RVNs
- Support from the wider St Albans hospital for out-of-hours and emergency care
You will work in a practice that values continuity of care, teamwork, and a practical, hands-on approach to nursing.
The Role
This is a hands-on day RVN position where you will be involved in all aspects of patient care.

You will:
- Support consultations and provide nurse-led clinics
- Assist with surgical procedures and anaesthesia
- Deliver inpatient care and patient monitoring
- Carry out Schedule III procedures where appropriate
- Support client communication and patient follow-up
- Maintain clinical standards and practice hygiene
This is a varied role suited to a nurse who enjoys being fully involved in both clinical and client-facing aspects of practice.
Rota
- Full-time or part-time hours considered
- Includes Saturdays at Berkhamsted
- Shared Sunday and emergency rota at St Albans
This structure gives you exposure to a broader caseload while maintaining a primarily day-based role.
Team & Support
You will be working within a small, supportive nursing team, alongside experienced vets and with access to the wider resources of the Village Vet and Linnaeus network.
The team environment is collaborative, with a focus on:
- Open communication
- Shared workload
- Ongoing development
You will also have access to additional support through the wider hospital network when needed.
