Are you an experienced RVN seeking a new challenge or a newly qualified RVN? Here at Durham Vets for Pets, we offer a fantastic opportunity to join our team with excellent career progression and great salaries—starting at £29,000 up to £35,000 FTE, depending on experience.

An Exciting Role

  • Unlimited CPD allowance
  • No out-of-hours (OOH) duties or Sundays
  • Full- or part-time positions available
  • Access to a stunning chalet in the French Alps
  • Opportunity to use and develop clinical skills, including Schedule 3 procedures
  • Supportive team with over 20 years’ experience in the clinical team

About the Practice

Set in historic Durham, known for its magnificent cathedral and castle, our practice combines a delightful location with a modern, welcoming environment.

  • A supportive collaborative team of 5 vets, 9 RVNs, 1 SVN, and essential administrative support

What We’re Looking for

We want a passionate, skilled RVN eager to:

  • Bring fresh ideas and creative problem-solving
  • Thrive in a flexible, friendly, growing team
  • Develop or refine clinical skills, particularly in:
    • Anaesthesia
    • Exotics
    • Feline-friendly nursing
    • Emergency & Critical Care
    • Nutrition

Key Skills & Traits

Ideal candidates will demonstrate:

  • Excellent communication and customer care
  • A collaborative, proactive, organised approach
  • Thoughtful decision-making
  • A passion for animal welfare and client/colleague relationships

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, experience or interest in mentorship/coaching roles would be beneficial.

The Role

  • Full-time position (with part-time flexibility considered)
  • Weekly schedule includes 1 in 5 Saturday shifts (with another nurse rostered for support)
  • No Sunday or out-of-hours work for job security, predictable schedules
