Registered Veterinary Nurse - Small Animal

Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) – Full-Time Role at Market Vets, North Devon

About the Role At Inspiring Vet Care, we prioritise our people to create healthier animals and happier owners. As the nation’s leading veterinary care provider, we look after over 2 million animals and are currently recruiting a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join our vibrant team at Market Vets—a mixed primary care practice with two North Devon sites.

Our friendly, dynamic practice offers modern, well-equipped facilities and a supportive environment that encourages clinical excellence. We specialise in a diverse range of animals, including exotics and orthopaedics, while offering ongoing opportunities for professional growth. In-house diagnostics (including digital X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, and therapeutic laser), combined with wards fitted for multiparameter monitoring, enable us to deliver progressive care tailored to every patient.

We thrive on collaboration, empowering our 14 vets, 12 nurses, and 3 student nurses, many of whom have earned certifications such as anaesthesia, analgesia, or feline nursing. Beyond clinical work, we partner with local charities like Cats Protection to strengthen our commitment to the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support veterinary surgeons: Act as an invaluable asset in theatre, examinations, patient care, and consultations.
  • Inpatient care: Take responsibility for nursing duties, monitoring, and patient comfort, adhering to clinical standards.
  • Admissions and discharges: Work alongside veterinary teams to ensure seamless patient transitions.
  • Nurse consultations: Conduct consultations as required, providing reassurance and education to owners.
  • Cross-site teamwork: Rotating across two sites, including participation in Saturdays (one in six), inpatient shifts (three every six weeks), and on-call (weekends, 6.00pm–7.00pm every one to two months).

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
