Registered Veterinary Nurse

Exciting Opportunity: Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) – Exeter Vets for Pets

Our friendly and welcoming team at Exeter Vets for Pets is seeking an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join us in a small animal practice dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and fostering a positive, collaborative environment.


About the Role

We are a supportive, close-knit small animal practice with a team of:

  • Four Vets
  • Four Registered Veterinary Nurses
  • One Student Nurse

One of our nursing team holds Certificates in Anaesthesia, reflecting our commitment to clinical excellence and ongoing professional development. We actively encourage progression through training and CPD courses.

In this role, you will:

  • Admit and monitor patients
  • Assist in anaesthetic procedures
  • Support during recovery and discharge processes
  • Participate in consultations

This is a unique opportunity within a practice that has recently welcomed a passionate new Practice Owner committed to creating a positive and enjoyable working culture. You’ll help shape the future direction of the practice while making a genuine community impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver compassionate client care with a genuine passion for animal welfare
  • Use your nursing skills across all aspects of patient care:
    • Admissions
    • Anaesthesia
    • Post-operative monitoring
    • Recovery and discharge support
    • Client communication
  • Collaborate in a small yet dedicated team to provide exceptional veterinary care

  • Participate in continuing professional development (CPD)

Person Specification

You’ll thrive if you have:

  • Solid, all-round nursing experience
  • Excellent client care and communication skills
  • A cheerful, down-to-earth personality with veterinary enthusiasm
  • A passion for improving the lives of pets and contributing to a supportive team culture
