We are seeking a Regulatory Affairs Specialist to join our Personal & Home Care team based in Wakefield, UK.

The Personal & Home Care Division has been established in the UK since 1998, formerly known as NK Chemicals Europe Ltd. NKC integrated into Barentz on the 1st July 2021 and is now the driving force behind the group’s Personal Care Division. About this role
As a Regulatory Affairs Specialist, you will provide support to processes and teams associated with the EMEA regulatory management team in a country/region, contributing to the compliance of personal care products. Ensure compliance with applicable standards for all products and processes within the organization by contributing to current responsibilities and requirements: Approval of new product or service suppliers; customer satisfaction and evaluation of product or service suppliers; regulatory requests from customers and regulatory support for suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:
- Implement management systems related to division-specific regulations.
- Contribute to the implementation, management, and updating of the regulatory database on various existing and future platforms.
- Handle customer requests regarding regulatory issues and raw material referencing.
- Process customer questionnaires according to established service levels such as various certifications (Leaping Bunny, COSMOS, etc.).
- Advise and support EMEA sales teams on issues related to cosmetics regulations.
- Communicate changes notified by suppliers to customers.
- Help manage the liaison between Barentz and its suppliers to respond to customer questions and regulatory inquiries.
- Stay informed about the various EMEA distribution ranges, technical and regulatory product knowledge, participation in product/supplier training.
- Monitor EMEA regulations to ensure the compliance of distributed products.
- Contribute to the creation of regulatory tools to support and inform sales teams of regulatory developments (internal training, drafting and publishing newsletters).
- Be responsible for evaluating and approving new suppliers entering our portfolio.
- Attendance at regulatory events to stay up to date on cosmetics regulations, trade shows to strengthen our customer-supplier relationships and enable better partnerships.

About You
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor/master’s degree in chemistry or related.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in the field of personal care regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of personal care regulations.
Skills/profile:
- Works under limited supervision in routine situations.
- Problems are generally not routine and require analysis to understand.
- Assists and trains other employees.
