About the Role
Level: 4 Location: Remote (with frequent travel in the South region, including South East/Kent or South West), plus a car allowance Department: Supervision & Oversight Contract: Permanent
This Regulatory Oversight Manager position offers an exceptional opportunity to work with AR (appointed representative) firm principals as part of Quilter’s Supervision and Oversight Team. The role is pivotal in supporting firms to maintain compliance, mitigate risk, and embody Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision & Compliance: Provide in-depth oversight to 40+ AR firms/firms, ensuring adherence to cultural & regulatory standards.
- Relationship Management: Build strong, collaborative ties with firm principals, addressing operational, customer, and reputational risks.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify and escalate concerns before they escalate, ensuring risks are aligned with network appetite.
- Assessment & Review:
- Conduct tailored firm visits, tailor reports, and offer remedial guidance after completing risk assessments.
- Develop action plans for overlooked or high-risk areas with agreed timelines.
- Supervisory Activity: Implement proactive monitoring, including regular on-site visits and digital oversight.
- Reporting & Escalation: submits clear insights to the Supervisions & Oursight Manager and manages issues to resolution.
- Development: Continuous engagement in training and upskilling opportunities.

The position is agile; you will independently schedule supervisory trips, balancing fieldwork (~2 days/week) with remote work.
About You
Quilter seeks a committed compliance and compliance expert with an empathetic yet analytical approach.
Experience & Skills:
- Proven expertise in compliance monitoring, field supervision, or regulatory oversight (e.g., supervised AR or Multi-Agent firms).
- Comfortable building trust-based relationships and engaging via dialogue to shift behaviours/processes.
- Sharp rational judgement paired with a curious nature.
- Experience with networked or IFA models/investment regulation.
- Qualifications:
- QCF Level 4 Compliance & Risk qualification is essential.
- Chartered or CII-qualified experience is an asset.
