Regulatory Reporting Accountant | Banking | Hybrid | Permanent | £65-85k DOE
This role sits within the Regulatory Reporting team of a UK-based financial services organisation and forms part of the wider Finance function and supports regulatory reporting at a consolidated level for UK operations, including offshore branches, and additionally provides reporting support to an affiliated international entity under a formal service agreement. The team is also responsible for standalone regulatory reporting for the UK banking entity.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and initial review of monthly and quarterly regulatory submissions, including:
- Capital adequacy and solvency reporting
- Large exposures and leverage metrics
- Liquidity reporting (e.g., liquidity coverage and funding ratios)
- Credit risk, counterparty risk, and market risk reporting
- Statistical and financial regulatory returns
- Consumer lending-related reports
- Support production and review of statistical reporting to central banks and regulatory authorities
- Liaise with Banking Operations and Treasury teams to validate data, ensure correct classification, and resolve discrepancies
- Produce daily monitoring reports (e.g., large exposures and liquidity metrics), including analysis and commentary
- Provide cross-coverage for regulatory returns during team absences or project involvement
- Perform control checks and reconciliations against independent data sources to maintain reporting accuracy
- Conduct variance analysis, trend analysis, and provide supporting commentary on movements
- Contribute to monthly regulatory reporting packs for senior governance forums (e.g., committees and executive boards)
- Investigate reporting issues, escalating where necessary and supporting resolution
- Prepare regular reporting packs for internal Treasury, Finance, and Risk meetings
- Proactively identify and resolve data quality issues, ensuring appropriate escalation and documentation
- Work with colleagues to implement process improvements, simplifications, and automation solutions
- Maintain and update regulatory reporting procedures and documentation

Profile:
- Part qualified or qualified accountant
- Previous experience working in a regulated environment
- Familiarity with the UK/EU regulatory framework
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
