We are seeking an Assistant Vice President – [Regulatory Reward & Governance Specialist] (full job titleohnin to be confirmed) to join their London team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Framework Enhancement

    • Support the operation and ongoing enhancement of MUFG’s global Regulatory Reward and Governance framework by maintaining up-to-date policies, standards, and operating procedures.
    • Ensure they align with current best practices.
  • Regulatory Process Leadership

    • Lead execution of key regulatory remuneration processes such as:
      • Material Risk Taker (MRT) identification
      • Annual MRT assessments
      • Governance reviews
      • Preparation of comprehensive supporting documentation
    • Serve as a key advisor, advocating for compliance through structured frameworks.
  • Regulatory Intelligence & Impact Assessment

    • Conduct detailed analysis of remuneration regulations and emerging regulatory developments to assess potential impacts on the organisation.
    • Support timely implementation of necessary changes via structured frameworks.

  • Policy and Procedures Management

    • Assist in developing, maintaining, and periodically reviewing:
      • Remuneration Governance Policies
      • Procedures
      • Control Documentation
    • Ensure alignment with MUFG’s remuneration standards and risk appetite.
  • Governance Reporting

    • Prepare high-quality governance materials for:
      • Senior Management Forums
      • Audit Committees
      • Regulatory examiners
      • Risk Management teams
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration

    • Work closely with Human Resources (HR), Risk Management, Compliance, and Legal Counsels to apply complex remuneration regulations practically.
  • Regulatory-Jurisdictional Compliance

    • Coordinate preparation and submission of:
      • Regulatory disclosures
      • Attestations
      • Governance submission packages
    • Ensure compliance with applicable requirements (PRA/FCA/ECB/EBA).
  • Remuneration Controls

    • Contribute to the design, implementation, testing, and monitoring of:
      • Remuneration-related controls
      • Governance processes underpinning effective risk management.
  • Audit & Scrutiny Support

    • Provide accurate records and transparent audit trails for:
      • Internal Audit Reviews
      • Regulatory Examinations
      • Assurance activities related to remuneration governance.
  • Risk-Benefit Analysis

    • Perform thorough analysis of remuneration arrangements and governance outcomes to:
      • Identify risks or trends
      • Recommend improvements for greater operational effectiveness.

Essential Requirements

Core Experience

  • Proven experience working within Regulatory Reward or Reward Governance roles in financial services environments where compliance is paramount.
  • Comprehensive understanding of:
    • Remuneration regulations (e.g., PRA, FCA, ECB/EBA)
    • Governance frameworks
    • Executive compensation structures or equivalent regulatory obligations in banking institutions.

Subject Component Mastery

  • Demonstrated ability to support regulatory reporting processes, including:
    • Policy development
    • Control activities in large-scale organisations.
  • Advanced analytical capabilities for interpreting complex regulations and translating requirements into practical business solutions.

Communication & Soft Skills

  • Exceptional written communication, evidenced by experience preparing:

    • Governance papers
    • Executive-level documentation for senior management.
  • Strong relationship-building skills across HR, Risk Management, Compliance, and Legal/Finance/business stakeholder groups.

Technical Proficiency

  • High proficiency in:

    • Microsoft Excel (including advanced data analysis)
    • PowerPoint presentations
  • Experience supporting Material Risk Taker (MRT) identification or similar regulated frameworks highly advantageous.

Environmental & Leadership Alignment

  • Global banking operations familiarity or experience in regulatory change governing transformation roles is desirable.
