Role Overview
We are seeking a Regulatory Specialist to manage the regulatory lifecycle for Syngenta’s Crop Protection portfolio across the UK and Republic of Ireland. Reporting to the Head of CP Regulatory UK & Ireland, you will be the key point of contact for submissions, compliance, and regulatory data, working across regulatory authorities, regional teams, and commercial stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Submissions & Registrations
- Prepare and submit regulatory packages to:
- UK CRD/HSE
- Irish DAFM/PCS
- Handle mutual recognitions, EAMUs, renewals, and new product applications, as well as label extensions
- Follow up on PPP processes (new registrations, re-approvals, minor registrations)
- Support supply chain regulatory needs, including:
- Non-significant formulation change submissions
- New AI source registrations
- Formulation site changes
- Packaging approval submissions

Regulatory Compliance
- Coordinate label artwork peer reviews and label text production
- Manage SDS (Safety Data Sheets) updates, PCN (Product Change Notification)/UFI (Unique Formula Identifier) notifications, and digital label maintenance
- Handle co-formulant and packaging change submissions
Stakeholder & Data Management
- Build and maintain professional relationships with UK and Irish regulatory authorities
- Collaborate with regional teams during product evaluations
- Maintain document storage and data accuracy in Veeva Vault
- Support AgriGuide updates for Great Britain, Northern Ireland, and Ireland
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Engage with technical, marketing, and sales functions to support portfolio teams
- Contribute to competitor portfolio analysis
- Respond to regulatory queries from commercial teams
Qualifications & Required Experience
Essential Requirements
- Background in registration procedures within crop protection or a related industry
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities and official bodies
- Experience with:
- Product labelling
- SDS management
- Regulatory compliance processes
- Familiarity with country-specific regulatory legislation (UK & Ireland)
- Experience using and maintaining regulatory databases
Education
- Degree in:
- Science (Crop Protection, Regulatory Affairs, Toxicology)
- Agronomy
- Chemistry
- Biology
- Related discipline

Preferred Skills & Attributes
- High attention to detail for accurate document preparation
- Ability to manage multiple submissions and deadlines
- Strong communication skills (able to engage with authorities, internal teams, and commercial stakeholders)
- Proficiency in English, including regulatory terminology
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills with a willingness to learn new regulatory IT systems
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a small team
