Rehabilitation Specialist
Bristol North Fitness Worldwide Class (FWC) | Rehabilitation Specialist | Permanent | Part-Time

- Salary: Up to £27,993.16 pro rata, depending on experience
- Base Location: Bristol North Club

We are seeking a Rehabilitation Specialist to:
- Deliver Nuffield Health Rehabilitation Programmes using our digital and in-person pathway models.
- Champion the Charitable Purpose by supporting participants in their recovery journey.
- Facilitate remote and in-person sessions including:
- exercise classes (group and 1:1)
- wellbeing support
- healthy eating guidance
- goal setting
- Enhance recovery through targeted interventions, self-management coaching, and emotional support.
This role is critical to Nuffield’s long-term vision for clinical rehabilitation and will involve working with vulnerable adults to enable sustainable lifestyle changes.
Key Responsibilities
Program Delivery & Leadership
- Design and coordinate rolling 12-week rehabilitation programmes.
- Facilitate live and virtual group exercise classes, accommodating varying levels of ability.
- Use pre-recorded on-demand content and participant journals to encourage self-directed activity post-programme.
- Adjust exercises and intensities based on weekly progress tracking (effort and performance).
- Escalate concerns per internal protocols if deterioration is identified, ensuring accurate reports within time limits.
- Monitor progress for data-driven outcomes, supporting our Charitable Purpose.

Support & Coaching
- Conduct weekly 1:1 coaching calls with all participants to:
- Set and review short-term and long-term goals.
- Address physical restrictions and functional limitations.
- Provide emotional wellbeing support.
- Empower participants with self-directed strategies for sustained recovery.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with:
- On-site teams
- Nuffield Health’s central rehabilitation and charity teams
- Beneficiaries
- Demonstrate leadership, influence, and initiative as part of a collaborative healthcare environment.
Essential Requirements
- Qualifications:
- Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification (mandatory).
- Postgraduate qualifications (e.g., a BSc in Sports Rehabilitation – desirable, not essential).
- Skills & Experience:
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Organisational and time management abilities.
- Decisive judgment in remotely guiding activity and progress.
- Experience working with vulnerable or at-risk adults.
- Proficiency in IT systems, including tracking software and telecommunication tools (Zoom, for example).
- Advance English and numerical skills demonstrated via qualifications and professional practice.

Desirable Attributes
- Prior experience in Rehabilitation Functional Training roles or fields beyond personal training.
- Aware of emerging trends in digital health and recovery pathways.
- Comfortable receiving patient feedback to adapt support strategies.
