About the Role
At Nuffield Health – the UK’s largest healthcare charity – we’re committed to building a healthier nation. This role, based at our Manchester Institute of Health and Performance (MIHP), focuses on delivering Nuffield Health Rehabilitation Programmes using our unique clinical pathway. You’ll champion our Charitable Purpose by supporting recovery through remote (digital) and in-person intervention, including exercise, emotional wellbeing support, healthy eating, and goal设置.
The ideal candidate will combine clinical knowledge, coaching expertise, and passion for rehabilitation to deliver high-impact programmes, conduct ongoing research collaborations, and empower participants to self-manage their recovery. Collaborative work with the Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) research team, NHS partners, and Nuffield Health’s Charity Beneficiaries is integral to this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, organise, and deliver rolling 12-week rehabilitation programmes at MIHP, the local community, and other Nuffield Health Manchester sites, incorporating both exercise and non-clinical support.
- Engage with the MMU Research team to facilitate and contribute to ongoing research projects, supporting evidence-based practice in rehabilitation pathways.
- Facilitate and deliver both live-streamed virtual and in-person group exercise classes for diverse populations, adapting intensity and exercises to accommodate varying abilities and physical functions.
- Promote self-directed activity using a mix of recorded on-demand classes and digital journals, helping participants manage their long-term health and recovery.
- Regularly assess and adjust exercise programming based on participant progress, performance, and effort.
- Identify deterioration in participants and follow internal escalation processes, ensuring timely reporting within set deadlines and accurate data capture for programme improvement.
- Conduct weekly 1:1 coaching telephone calls with participants to:
- Set and track short-term and long-term goals.
- Address activity restrictions and movement rehabilitation.
- Provide emotional wellbeing support tailored to the individual.
- Empower self-directed engagement in their recovery journey.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
