Rehabilitation Support Worker – Brain Injury Rehabilitation

Location: Barnsley

About the Role

We are expanding our outreach support team and are seeking proactive, compassionate individuals to join our residential brain injury rehabilitation service in Barnsley. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible difference in supporting individuals as they recover from life-changing neuro-rehabilitative challenges.

Our service has achieved an Outstanding CQC rating in all five domains and has most recently been re-awarded Outstanding in the Headway ABI approved service provider scheme, recognising exceptional outcomes for clients recovering from brain injuries. Our innovative and forward-thinking approach ensures no two days are the same, with continuous learning opportunities alongside our therapy teams.

Key Responsibilities

The Rehabilitation Support Worker will:

  • Work collaboratively with neuro-therapists to implement personalised rehabilitation goals and strategies.
  • Provide adaptive support as service users adjust to life-changing neuro-rehabilitative recovery.
  • Engage in sympathetic, objective, and proactive care to enhance recovery and emotional wellbeing.
  • Assist with personal care routines and manual handling tasks.
  • Be part of a dynamic and culture-driven team, contributing to the continued growth of our service.

Requirements

  • No prior experience required—extensive training and mentoring provided to develop skills.
  • Essential traits include kindness, groundedness, and a proactive mindset.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and rotas with an emphasis on flexibility.

Deployment & Availability

  • The role operates on a roster system, including:
    • Weekend work
    • Evening shifts
    • Personal care assistance
    • Manual handling tasks (including transfers, hoisting, etc.)
